Well-Read Black Girl and Pioneer Works present the second annual Well-Read Black Girl Festival, a celebration of Black women readers and writers that seeks to initiate meaningful conversations within the literary arts. This year’s festival includes authors Jacqueline Woodson, Veronica Chambers, Renée Watson, Mahogany Browne, Blair Imani, and many more to be announced.
Can I attend if I’m not a Black woman? Can men attend?
The Well-Read Black Girl Festival is curated and designed for Black women. Please consider supporting and purchasing a ticket for a #WellReadBlackGirl in your community. We also encourage people who are genderqueer and gender non-binary to join us at the literary festival.
Can children attend the festival?
The festival is an intergenerational, family-friendly space. We recommend inviting students ages 13 and up.
